Interesting displays, which date from as early as the 18th and 19th century, are available for your perusal at the historical museum, including the interior of a chemist's shop from the late 18th century. Further, from the early 19th century the museum exhibits historical relics, ancient medical instruments and medical plants which were used in traditional medicine. Then, from the 10th and 11th century, the ancient Old Russian bath-house which was not only used for hygienic purposes but also for healing is also on display. You will also see the history of surgery, ophthalmology, gynecology, pathology and bacteriology - especially for those of you interested in these fascinating fields.

The fifth and sixth halls of the National Medical Museum of Ukraine display features of public health and development of medical science in the 20th Century. These halls feature the famine in Ukraine which took place in the years 1932-1933. An historical event which touched the lives of millions around the world - the Chernobyl tragedy - is also represented here.
